Jeffrey Daniel Frey (Jeff) is the Web Services Manager for Enterprise Applications in the Information Technology Department at Rice University.
Jeff has over ten years of experience in leading edge technologies that make up podcasting as we know it today: audio/video recording, producing audio/video, blogging, and developing/managing web based business solutions and applications.
His technology work experience, together with global International organizational responsibilities, include: business analysis, application solution design, enterprise architecture design, software development, project management, vendor and customer relationship management, managerial, and leadership duties.
Jeff holds an MS in Computer Science from Kent State University where his focused on how the bioengineering algorithms used in the human genome project could be mapped onto music (see “The Use of the Smith-Waterman Algorithm in Melodic Song Identification“). Jeff keeps current with the latest internet tools, teaches courses on podcasting as well as other new internet media, and has additional experience in establishing a small technology business and a non-profit organization. Currently, Jeff is using his knowledge of podcasting to help universities better utilize time, money, and other resources while pursuing an Executive MBA at Rice University (projected graduation 2010).
His focus on podcasting technologies came from a series of events where clients and friends have asked for help on the subject. His hope is that his research abilities, as well as technical expertise, can help current and future podcasters realize their podcasting potential.
